Dr George Morstyn, MBBS PhD FRACP FTSE MAICD
Key skills: Specialist in translational and clinical oncology.
Dr Morstyn has extensive experience in drug development and biotechnology. He was head of the clinical program at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Melbourne and Principal Investigator on the earliest clinical studies of haemopoietic growth factors. From 1991 to 2002, Dr Morstyn worked for Amgen, rising to Senior Vice President of Development and Chief Medical Officer in 1999.
Dr Morstyn is Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee of GBS Bioventures, Chair of Biomedical Research Victoria, board member and chair of the scientific advisory board of Symbio (Japan), and board member of ANZBCTG. He is a member of the commercialisation committee at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and Deputy Chair of the Health Forum of the ATSE.
